We need to open our eyes to our behavior, our actions towards our forests. Our actions taken when choosing locations for construction, for clearing forests for farming or just plainly for profit. Locations that involve rivers, or species under threat. Littering, dumping old paint or car batteries, the forest can hide it but it won't make it go away. Water from storm drains, ditches, ravines and parks eventually lead to creeks and rivers which can affect our ecosystem. Tossing garbage into a bag and throwing it to the curb may seem like it's disappearing but in reality it is just going somewhere else. Hopefully some of it is being recycled and hopefully you think before just getting rid of it in a neighborhood park, or forest. We need to remember that our cities were built with the resources from our forests. We need to understand that even if we don't see the forest it is why our cities remain as they are! The forests help regulate our planet's temperature, provide us with oxygen and absorb pollution. Our forests are a continuing supply of nutrients and homes for all species including humans, after all before the city there was a forest, we just cut it down to build within it.
We have cleaned up piles of garbage and litter. from parks and camping grounds. We've done all of this for the benefit of the.forest, the wildlife and all of our children. We did this to prove that it was possible and to show that you can also help to protect our forests.
