Our thoughts of the survey Although these are just a handful of our results, what we've calculated so far is that the majority of those who've taken our survey do pick up after themselves and go as far as to clean other people's litter as well. It also seems that the lack of knowledge is still out there as to what threatens forests in the first place and where to go and what to do to help. Its never easy dealing with the actions on logging threatened areas or with forest fires but you can definitely voice your concerns, that is what starts the debate on whether it is an issue in the first place. Today there are many ways to help, a great way to start is with take a stand yourself and to let others know what you've learned especially your children. You can contact local organizations, or start a project in your neighborhood to clean a certain area, it won't take long and perhaps you'll meet new people while doing it. Once you initialize and take action people will start to notice and before you know it you'll be discussing other avenues to address. It might seem like a dead end at times but take it from us at PYF, we've cleaned areas before and it is worth your time and energy. Though there are those who keep littering and it hurts when you see this being done, when you do spend time there again and see what you've accomplished it is very rewarding. Protect Your Forest is working on a couple new projects for 2010 and we look forward to starting these very soon. If you have any ideas or pictures or information that you wish to share please do let us know, you can email us at: questions@protectyourforest.com
Thanks for all who are concerned and keep on protecting our forests.
The PYF info snippet
